With French toast sticks, bacon, and hot apple cider in hand, we mingled with Philly Artists at Cherry Street Pier – Pier No. 9. The atmosphere was buzzing with an Artists in Residence vibe as we admired the incredible works of talented individuals. We even had the Philadelphia Dance Academy flutter past us in their ballet garb after an outdoor Nutcracker showcase. In that moment, we looked at each other with the giddiness of a first date!

It had been a while.

We exited the pier and headed back to the car to discover The River Rink. In full transparency we had been there before in another life. Think 3 small children under the age of 7. Refinding The River Rink – it was very new!

Fire Fire on a warm December Day!

Cabin snuggles and people watching.

The rink was lit up so nicely for the holidays and the fire pits were warm, and the setting was just relaxing and chill. We liked it so much that we booked a little “cabin” for Christmas to surprise the boys. Not sure how that will go. I scoped out the ice skating guides (it’s the equivalent of an ice walker) that little kids and limb and life-cautious adults use. There are plenty available.

Promise I am looking at the lights, not the little boy getting the “Mom Glare”. Girl – you take care of yours!

I was just thankful for this time with Ken. Our lives are very full. It’s mission impossible to carve out quality time at times.

On the car ride home, a viral video posted by @thefaithandhustle popped up in my feed of a woman declaring God gifted her husband and children to her in such a meaningful way.  It spoke to me! At that moment, I felt convicted about being more intentional with my connection with Ken.

Fast forward 5 minutes later and I am thinking up some craziness. It’s all good and you can read about that in About Us.

The #RiverRink is still decked out in lights and wonder for the winter season and will be celebrating it’s 30th anniversary with a massive New Year Celebration. Carpe Diem your tickets and cabin rentals! it’s a solid Ken and Sam pick for #couplegoals and families too.
