24 Dates in 2024 -Date #14

Since we were already in Vegas, our pit stop before our actual destination, we couldn’t resist the allure of the Grand Canyon. It was date #14 of our 24 dates in 2024, and we were about to embark on a truly unique experience.
This Blog is going to be the shortest, ever! Because what can even be said about the Grand Canyon!?
I could hit you with a list of words that could describe visiting the Canyon, string them together, and hope you get a teeny glimpse into its magnificence, and I would fail miserably.

The Grand Canyon experience is indescribable. It’s a bit like motherhood. Try as you might to communicate what it’s like; nothing does it justice like living it. Everyone sharing that same space in time is wide-eyed, mute, or stuck on the verbal response of “WOW!!” because there is a loss of words. In some instances, kindred Canyon souls eke out an “Mm-hmm” or “You know.” Also, I have learned that pictures and videos are a massive failure, too.

Maybe the only thing that might visually capture is a National Geographic photo from a master professional photographer who waited ten days in the same spot to capture the 5 seconds that would birth the perfect picture. Even that is a distant second.
What I am trying to say is put the Grand Canyon on your bucket list. You will not regret it. Do some research, and if I were to recommend anything, I would suggest doing a small group-sized tour. If you can swing it, include that Helicopter ride. As someone who is terrified of heights, that ride will go down as one of the most thrilling, awe-inspiring experiences that I shared with Ken ( confession—and our boys, too!).

www.viator.com for small group tour that includes more than just the Grand Canyon and worth the time and dollars. The helicopter ride that takes you into the Canyon and lands you inside for views your cell phone will never be ready for.
