Sam’s Ramblings

The date that sparked- 24 Dates in 2024

We headed to Philly for some random French toast sticks at Cherry Street Pier – Pier No. 9 and discovered the cool setting of Artists in Residence. Perusing the works of talented visual artists with the Philadelphia Dance Academy scurrying by us in ballet garb, after an outdoor Nutcracker showcase, we looked at each other with the giddiness of a newly dating couple.

It had been a while.

Yes – This is a Yarn Vending Machine!

Not only were the French toast sticks popping, but they came with bacon – no need to elaborate! Hot apple ciders in hand, courtesy of @lokalartisanfoods, with a blue sky view of the Ben Franklin and some cute young girls clicking selfies. The backdrop was sweet. We turned the corner and then entered the River Rink which we had been to in a previous life (think very young children and a terrorizing level of no sleep). It felt very new!

The rink was lit up so nicely for the holidays and the fire pits were warm, and the setting was just relaxing and chill. We liked it so much we booked a little “cabin” for Christmas to surprise the boys. Not sure how that will go. I scoped out the ice skating guides (it’s the equivalent of an ice walker) that little kids and limb and life cautious adults use. There are plenty available.

I promise, I am not looking at the kid getting scolded. The ferris wheel lights are christmas tree lights are mesmerizing.

I was just thankful for this time with Ken. Our lives are very full. It’s mission impossible to carve out quality time at times.

On the car ride home, a viral video posted by @thefaithandhustle popped up in my feed of a woman declaring God gifted her husband and children to her in such a meaningful way.  It spoke to me! In that moment, I felt some conviction about being a bit more intentional with my connection with Ken.

Fast forward 5 minutes later and I am thinking up some craziness. It’s all good and you can read about that in About Us.
